Bunker to Bonneville 50K Run
Saturday, September 2nd 2017
2014 B2B race has been run without a single bee incident! Yay! Of course we might have the rain to thank for that. Instead of hornets, we had the PCT through hikers to spice up the race. Kind of fun to be in their bubble!
Once again I can't begin to express how grateful I am to all the volunteers who make this race happen. Thank you all so much!
We had an outstanding performance from Anthony Lee, the winner of the race, a very nice young man whom we can expect great things from in the future. This was his first ultra! Also we have a new female course record. Congratulations to Chelsea Gay.
The race had a new finish course this year, crossing the dry Hamilton Creek. Everyone seemed to prefer this challenging end instead of pavement. We will try to solidify the course with this ending.
I was very impressed with the runners who braved the wind, rain and fog to climb 3 corner rock for the beer mug. Good job all!
Thank you runners for all your spirit, toughness and enthusiasm. You made it a great day!
